Solstice Parade

We're in the news: The Magic of Santa Barbara Solstice Celebration Begins with Parade Workshop

A pretty good article with quite a few doops here and there concerning us.

First of all, our name is not the "Derf Squad", we are the "Derp Squad". BIG DIFFERENCE. In the photograph Matias has an entirely new name that does not exist in the real world.

B'Dough is now a "symbol of happiness and acceptance" to all those who read this news article.

Aside from all these goofs, hopefully something good will come out of it. Maybe people will get interested and look us up. The problem is there's not much too look up, we still have not done any more work on the website because for the past month we've been swamped with this workshop.

One would think that it isn't so hard to put together a website, but because we are so easily distracted and we have to work together, we aren't going to finish very soon.

You can call me Bronzebeard

.. or Falstad, whichever you prefer.

Yep, that's right, Aidan has finally cast a bronze beard to his own face. He covered his beard in plaster and sat in the kiln over night like a b'dass, letting the beard hair burn out. Next morning he poured the bronze in himself and waited a few days until it hardened completely. He then proceeded to break off all the plaster with one swift swing of his hatchet, cut off all the gating, and polish it down and add a nice traditional patina.

In other news, Aidan has also completed his bronze casting mentorship, having created a stunning representation of a roughed up alley-cat B'Dough. Sadly, photographs of this fine piece of art and craftsmanship will not be displayed until the piece is received from the Arts Fund Gallery in early July, probably. Maybe we'll be able to take a few pictures of it on it's pedestal before then.

The website has not been worked on in too long, however finals are next week and we will be able to work on it much, much more after school is over.

Also, we are building a giant B'Dough cat float for the Summer Solstice parade. The people at the workshop are great, they're very helpful. We are thankful that we have this opportunity. More information on the float may be posted at a later date.

Once again...

a relatively inefficient workday for us at B'Dough. One of our brothers was absent from the festivities today which destructed our work force from being semi-productive to almost a halt. Not only that but the two of us were too focused on beating the Arena matches in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion to do almost anything else.

However we did update the starter page to have a looping animation of B'Dough rather than a still picture. Go there now: bdough.com

And we've the beginnings of a plan to develop large B'Dough cat suits this summer. Some details hopefully include movable cheeks and fangs squirting venom. The sight of a giant orange cat smoothly dragging along the floor towards them with that maniacal look on its face may frighten some.. but we hope to inspire in others.

The Forces of B'Dough are at Work.

Gee, could that possibly be our smiley, disturbing, mascot burnt onto that piece of toast?

A lazy grilled-cheese Sunday with Aidan

Today is the last day of spring break before school starts up again and I just got back from a trip to see family and friends in Texas so I wanted to have a chill day.

I was feeling like the bottomless teenage pit of a stomach that I am, so I decided to make some grilled-cheese.

See, us 'Doughs don't make grilled-cheese like most people, we use waffle irons. Waffle-ironed grilled-cheese is quite delightful, and it seems easier and faster to make. All you do is put the butter on the bread, stick some cheese in it, and throw it in the iron and wait a minute or two. You don't even have to flip it.

We grabbed a few buddies of ours one day in order to experiment with grilled cheese sandwiches. That was back on February, 19th and is now considered an annual holiday within our ring of friends (though I hear there is talk of making it biannual). I grilled up a sandvich and put M&M's in it which was a horrible idea. Cheddar and sweet, chocolaty don't mix well. However, the color bled out through the bread and made it a very pretty, though disgusting, sandvich.

The best grilled-cheese sandwich that I experienced that day was a goat cheese with (either strawberry or raspberry) jam on a swirly rye and pumpernickel mixed bread. Absolutely scrumptious.

Today I made a simple cheddar and sourdough sandvich, the cheese ended up bleeding out of the bread like sweat from pours. Not the best looking sandvich I've made but it was tasty nonetheless.

If I had the time (or rather the energy and resources) to try to make the perfect sandwich to show you I would, but for now this will do.

By the way, feel free to join us in making grilled-cheese sandwiches and having fun on February, 19th. It doesn't matter what kitchen you're in.

Clench your Crevices and Meet The Doughs

A bit about us, the people involved the conception, evolution, and spreading of B'Dough. As some general rules, we make a lot of awesome crap from alotta random crap, we hate pretentiousness, and we work darn hard at this business of B'Dough. As for each of us:

-Aidan: Ramen addict, plays guitar, loves slayer, plays alotta minecraft.

-Diego: Plays bass ( not the fish ), has lame girlfriend, lets us sleep at his house and eat all his food.

-Alex: Loves to paint, addicted to seedy gigs, spends alotta time in odd situations.
